Science and innovation
Science and technology fighting crime
Science is critical to our efforts to combat the evolving threat of terrorism.
Our approach is fully explained in our security and counter-terrorism science and innovation strategy.
What do we mean by science and innovation?
We mean any knowledge and technology that can be used to strengthen our ability to combat terrorists.
We draw on a wide spectrum of research to enhance our understanding of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear material, explosives, and social and behavioural science.
Who is involved?
Our work is wide-ranging, and involves numerous departments and agencies with successful histories in combating terrorism and furthering scientific research.
We also work closely with international colleagues, partners in the private sector and experts in academia.
